The Operator TV Technology and Services (OTTS) UX team is looking for a Creative Director to shape the television and video entertainment experiences in Microsoft. Joining a diverse and experienced group of UX designers, researchers, and producers, you will help establish the architecture and design strategy for the group in a collaborative and open environment.
As the Creative Director, you are expected to own the look and feel of our experiences. Working closely with the Experience Director, Art Director, and design leads, you will establish the design language for the UX. You are able to balance aesthetic objectives with technical and usability requirements. You can direct talent as well as be hands on with crafting experiences. You are able to think "big picture" as well as think at the pixel level, and are able to articulate and define the design aesthetic with partners.

Primary responsibilities:
-Lead the visual design aesthetic and strategy across multiple projects, leveraging static, motion, and sonic elements to create the design language
-Work with the team to establishing design patterns and FLAV (feel, look, attitude, voice)
-Produce appropriate visual style guidelines and templates
-Manage team of visual and motion designers
-Marry brand aesthetics with product aesthetics to create a cohesive product
Qualifications:
-Qualified candidates should have at least 7:10 years of professional experience, preferably with experiences in TV and mobile entertainment product design
-Extremely strong visual sensibilities, with expertise in creating a variety of artifacts to illustrate the emotional tones of an experiences
-Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.)
-Understanding of motion, animation, and spatial environments in the context of interfaces
-Experience working confidently in a large collaborative studio, and manage resources effectively
-Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills with an attention to detail
-Understand the array of technical constraints, user goals and business requirements that shape current and future products, and modify designs as needed
-Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and related tools is required.
-Experience managing a team of designers or external vendors
-A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Computer Animation, Interface Design, Interaction Design, Motion Design, Film and Television or equivalent experience
